The Visual Studio WebTest Viewer application was developed to be a portable tool which reads VSTS WebTest XML into familiar tree structure. Due to its small size it can be placed on the USB stick and run from any PC with .NET framework installed.
I have rewritten the tool from scratch and now it is using IXmlSerializable interface to parse VSTS WebTest. As the consequence the tool is more prone to failures while reading the WebTests. Any unexpected tag can cause it to abort parsing in which case no data will be displayed in the tree view.
WebTest nodes look the same as in Visual Studio and the properties of the rules are displayed in the property panel on the right rather than as sub nodes of the rule node.
I also included the event logger which should be helpful in debugging the cause of failure and hopefully fixing the tool. The event logger is a window at the bottom part of the utility. It looks a bit weird at the moment and I would need to spend some time to make it more readable.
All the parsing events are also saved into log.txt file which is located in the utility working folder. It could be used to open WebTests exported from Fiddler.
