dynamsoft enhances its version control solution
dynamsoft corporation, a leading developer of version control and bug tracking software, today announced an update for its version control solution - sourceanywhere, which comes with both hosted and standalone editions.
sourceanywhere is sql-based source code control software designed to be a replacement of microsoft visual sourcesafe. the solution provides integration with visual studio, eclipse and macromedia studio as well as other msscci compatible ides.
"we have some developers using it with visual studio 2010 and some other developers using it for source control on a website. it works great for both purposes and even better they have the best customer support i have ever had the pleasure to work with", said troy miller, it/project manager, technology solutions, inc. msscci plug-in further boosts its performance by up to 30%~50% in the new release.
new features are also introduced, including optimized integration with sql server management studio and unipaas, better support for web projects and moving files/folders in ides.
designed to be a vss replacement, sourceanywhere comes with similar ui and an import tool from sourcesafe. “i found the learning curve to be almost nonexistent”, commented jordan light, ameritech.net.
the new version of vss import tool benefits users by reduced time, improved stability as well as stronger fault tolerance. the whole process is now divided into four stages. this enables developers to perform source control operations even during the import process. "i'm very pleased by great acceleration of importing (from 10 days to 8 hours)", commented from a customer who tested the beta version.
