MPlayerGUI is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) front-end for MPlayer. MPlayerGUI depends on MPlayer.
The program can play AVI, MPEG, ASF/WMV, QuickTime/MOV, RealMedia RM/RMVB, MPEG4, WMA, MP3, WAV files and doesn't need to install any codecs to the system.
You can threat MPlayer as the kernel and MPlayerGUI as the interface.
